I found this to be one of the most indispensable books for the Electrical Engineer. I initially had difficulty with it, because it is typically used as an introductory text to EE/CS courses, but I learned that it was because I was not ready for this book. With most books prior to this one, I was able to skim paragraphs quickly and get the general idea. This one, however, requires attention to detail, because every word of every sentence is necessary for comprehension. So should a book with no extraneous details be ridiculed? I think not! In this manner, I think it is like poetry — it is the best possible description of its subject within smaller textbook limitations.

Would you believe they used this book for a computer science class? The class is hell because of it and the teacher. It has no answers for problems so you don’t know if you’re right or wrong. It’s examples that it does give are horrible and it never fully explains anything. It doesn’t even deserve 1 star (how bout -2stars!).
